Lewis Fox Mallory Jr. of Starkville (left), a 1965 MSU College of Business graduate, was awarded an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree by MSU President Mark E. Keenum during Friday’s commencement ceremony on Dec. 13. Mallory, retired CEO of Cadence Bank, played a key role in the development of the Thad Cochran Research Park. He was named Alumnus of the Year by the College of Business in 1997 and recognized as one of its 100 Most Distinguished Alumni during the college’s 2015 centennial celebration.
